Bansley's Berkshire Ridge

Welcome to our family farm. Owned and operated by Sean, Carol and Tyler Bansley.              

We raise Berkshire hogs, White Park beef cattle, and now Dairy goats have been added to our farm.

At Berkshire Ridge, we raise 100% purebred Berkshire hogs.  No antibiotics, Growth hormones, Paylean or animal by-products. We feed them a high quality, locally grown and fresh all vegetarian diet. They pasture outdoors in the fresh country air and on lush green grass and clover and where they are free to root and wallow. Our hogs are never caged or crated. They are free to be hogs.  They are raised humanely and with the utmost care.
We are now raising and selling prime quality 100% grass raised beef from heritage White Park Cattle. They are never given a grain diet only natural grown forage and alfalfa and grass hay.

Berkshire pork is known for it's marbling, superior flavor, texture and juiciness.  Top Chefs use Berkshire pork exclusively for these 1st class qualities. Berkshire pigs provide true 'heritage' pork.  They were recognized and prized for their eating qualities over 300 years ago in England. They have the oldest recorded swine pedigree history in the U.S., starting in 1875.  The Berkshire niche pork market is expanding, both for export to Japan and the growing domestic market in the United States.  The unique meat quality of pork from purebred Berkshire pigs gives consumers a superior eating experience.  Berkshire pork is darker colored, tastier, more tender, and containes more marbling than crossbred commodity pork.



The focus on meat quality remains the foundation of the Berkshire breed.  Purebred Berkshire pigs produce chops, roasts and other pork cuts that are well marbled and consistently sweet, tender and juicy.  Berkshire pork receives a premium status due to its superior eating qualities.
